Article marketing is a free and effective way to drive tons of traffic to your website and it doesn’t take being an English Professor to do it, I’m living proof! I’m sure by now you can tell I didn’t go to college, wait a minute don’t answer that question. We all have hobbies and extracurricular activities we participate in, why not take that knowledge and write an article about it? Don’t be shy show us what you got!
Of course the purpose of article marketing is to ultimately drive traffic to your website, so you want the content you are writing about to be directly related to your product or service that you offer. For example, let’s say you are selling an ultimate drive increaser eBook on “How To Increase Your Vertical”…wait does the period go before or after the quotations? See I told you I wasn’t an English Professor. Okay, so in your article you may want to give a couple of free tips (not too much we want to leave something up the imagination) on how to increase ones vertical. You can even give examples on why having an increased vertical will help them in basketball by out jumping their competition. Now that I am thinking about it I need this e-book, my vertical is in the negatives.
Now, I know you are thinking what does this have to do with driving traffic to my website? Well, the theory behind article marketing is that the search engines pick up content related to certain key words. So, if someone types in “how to increase my vertical” into Google, Yahoo! or whatever other search engine you use, it will send out spiders, well they aren’t real spiders but I am using that for dramatic effect (remember I am not a college graduate, my English is limited) to pick up content that is relative to that search i.e. the article you wrote. So you have to make a conscious effort that you put key words related to your product, service or website in your article, so that the search engines have an easy time pick up the content. Did I also mention article marketing is free and you can write as much as you want!
The last thing you want to do is have a “call to action”, when you are done with your article you want to tell the person reading it what to do! Here is an example: “Hey you…yeah you…go to my website(insert website here) and get my e-book, it will give you the necessary tools and exercises’ you need to increase your vertical and jump to the moon.” Well, you may want to be a bit more professional than that, remember I am no Shakespeare. I think my new slogan is going to be “article marketing it’s so easy even a caveman can do it.”
